We hear that Karan Johar's upcoming film ‘Khan which stars Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol based on a real story that deals with many other sensitive issues like terrorism and racial and religious labeling.

In the film SRK and Kajol play a married muslim couple living in the US. The story unravels against the backdrop of the twin tower attacks in New York where SRK gets wrongly detained on a flight because his last name is Khan and the authorities believe that makes him a terrorist.

The first half of the story is inspired from the true tale of a couple who, Karan Johar says, are based outside India. He has bought the rights to the story from the couple.

The film, currently being scripted by Shivani Bhatija, is expected to go on the floors in mid 2008.

KJo, who has in the past focused exclusively on romantic dramas, is excited about the film because of its intense story line but a little tentative about directing it.

"I'm petrified, mortified and absolutely hysterical about directing this film. I even asked Shibani after reading the first draft, 'Do you think I am the right person to direct this?' The tone of the film is such. All I can say is that in my entire career this is possibly the biggest risk I am taking," he says.
