SVOI stars Shine in Hong Kong

'Kung Hei Fat Choy', the four word greeting, in use in Hong Kong conveys a very special message, wishing all a Very Happy and Prosperous New Year.

On the occasion of the New Year, the Indian community in HK, celebrated this day in grand style, as the finalists of STAR Voice of India welcomed the Chinese Year of the Rat with a scintillating performance in Hong Kong, on February 7th.

The stars of the evening, 'Voice of India' Ishmeet, 'Chhote Ustaad' Abhaas, Toshi, Sumitra and Priyani swayed on the theme of "Evolution of Bollywood Music", as the sell-out crowd at the Hong Kong Jockey Club Auditorium tapped their feet to some scintillating music which started off with the flavor of 1970's to the contemporary favorites, 'Dard-E-Disco' and 'Chak de'.

The show also showcased the fusion of local HK dancers dancing on popular Bollywood numbers, clearly a first time on such a big platform. The Chief Guest for the evening was Mr. L.D. Ralte, the Consulate General of India in HK.

The first-ever international show for the VOI talents this, reaped rewards as the troupe got requests to tour US, Singapore, Bangkok and Dubai...

But the highlight of the evening was the start of the auditions of Star Voice of HK with a promise that the talent spotted from the contest will be given an opportunity to travel to India and sing a song in the SVOI Season 2, in front of esteemed judges, with Star airing the episode globally.

A small step to a bigger canvas called 'SVOI World Tour', the success of SVOI Concert in HK will surely open up more markets, and the idea to further popularize STAR, and enhance the brand equity of Star Voice of India seems to be growing bigger and bigger...
