It was enlightenment indeed for leading media professional, Zubin Driver when he heard the news of two innocent
girls having been molested outside JW Marriot Hotel recently, and the fact that nobody did really come forward to
help these girls.
To fight against such ruthless gender molestations and in order to create awareness in the minds of masses, Driver
started a campaign called 'Fight-Back'.
Talking about the website he created, he says, fight-back.net is a
democratic platform that will help people all over India fight the menace of gender violence. It's a single-window
interface for victims, journalists, researchers and anyone interested in resistance".
Zubin Driver has indeed been successful in creating awareness and spread his message all over, as he finds some
renowned hands ready to help him in his mission.
Ranvijay, the host of the MTV reality show 'Roadies',
has now come forward to represent the initiative and create awareness about the cause. Brought up in an
environment where importance was placed on respecting women, the cause holds a special meaning for the
VJ.
Ranvijay has pledged to involve his fellow bikers in the cause along with raising the issue at all public
forums.
Even noted lawyer and Human rights activist Teesta Setalvad, who has strong views on gender violence and
molestation, has also decided to lend her voice to 'Fight-Back'.
Heavyweight educationist and head of Social Communications Media, Sophia Polytechnic, one of India's leading
institutes for social communication for women, Jerro Mulla has decided to inculcate the need to 'Fight Back'
amongst women all over India.
Driver who feels happy that he is receiving aids from all over says that, "Ultimately, it is not the celebs or me who
matter; it is the people of this country. Fight-Back is an effort to reach out to 'young' India, the driving force behind
any movement".
