Chinese martial arts star Jackie Chan does not allow professionals to do his laundry when he stays at hotels because it is too expensive.

Chan likes doing his own t-shirts, underwear and socks in his hotel suite and doesn't mind hanging them out to dry.

Contactmusic.com quoted him as saying: 'I never take the underwear or socks to the laundry because they charge you $20. You can buy another one (pair).'

He added that it is also about being disciplined.

He added: 'I just bring two pairs of underwear for day and night - it's so easy... It's not about money, it's about discipline.'

He likes to do his laundry while he is showering.
