On a recent visit to Punjab for a concert, music composer Pritam Chakraborty was taken aback to see posters calling him 'Pritam Singh'.

'It was a huge culture shock. There were posters of me all over with my sinister bearded face and the name 'Pritam Singh',' Pritam told.

'When I asked why I was being changed from a pure Bengali to a Punjabi, I was told it had to do with my bhangra song 'Mauja hi mauja' in 'Jab We Met'. They argued that anyone who could compose such a hardcore Punjabi song had to be a Punjabi,' he added.

Interestingly, Pritam Singh is what Bobby Deol calls his co-star Preity Zinta.

'Considering how different Preity and I look, Bobby should've no problem with two Pritam Singhs,' joked the bearded composer.

He has just completed another hardcore Punjabi soundtrack for Anees Bazmi's 'Singh Is King'.

Pritam said, 'It's a massy beat-oriented soundtrack with one soft gentle ballad. I love doing softer numbers. I think 'Jab We Met' gave me a chance to do things I had never done. Imtiaz Ali knew exactly what he wanted. And I knew exactly how to create the sound he wanted.'
