Noted filmmaker Mukesh Bhatt, and the producer of flick 'Jannat', said that the movie would bring a thaw in relations with neighbouring Pakistan.

Bhatt, along with film's director Kunal Deshmukh and lead pair Emraan Hashmi and Sonal Chauhan, visited a mega mall in Mumbai on Saturday as part of the promotion of the film.

The film hit theatres in India and Pakistan simultaneously on Friday.

Besides Hashmi and newcomer Chauhan, 'Jannat' also stars Samir Kochhar, Vishal Malhotra and Javed Sheikh, a Pakistani actor.

"The film will iron out decades old differences between India and Pakistan. Let us look forward; let us make things, which will be good for entire subcontinent. We should throw out the bad memories from our minds," Bhatt said.

The film is based on the life of a bookie, who has big aspirations, wants to make a quick buck and is willing to go to any extent for that. He starts off as a smalltime gambler, an avid cricket lover and eventually gets involved in the betting nexus.

Debutant Chauhan, who was in Pakistan recently for the premiere of the film, was full of praise for the hospitality she got in the neighbouring country.

"It was a very, very good experience. This is my first movie and I am experiencing it. I think the way the crowd was going crazy over Emraan was unbelievable. I mean I have not seen it even in movies. It was really nice and the people there are very, very good," she said.

The film is about a sport the nation is crazy about and the filmmakers claim their intention is not to malign any cricketing icons or show anyone in a bad light.

Trade mills say 'Jannat' touches upon real-life incidents like Pakistan coach Bob Woolmer's mysterious death during last cricket World Cup held in West Indies and much maligned match fixing episode which rocked the cricket world in the past and so on.

Pritam Chakraborty and Kamran Ahmed compose the music of the film. Sayeed Qadri, Kamran Ahmed and Neelesh Misra have penned the lyrics.
