Warner Bros' Mumbai office has warned that it will take legal action against those who would try to re-make "Wedding Crashers" (2005) without taking proper permission from them because they have the India distribution rights of New Line Cinema's super hit comedy.

Orion Pictures of Nikhil Advani and Mukesh Talreja have submitted a proposal to remake "Wedding Crashers" in Hindi. "However, no final decision has been taken yet in this regard," a spokesman for Warner Bros. in Mumbai told.

Advani had earlier claimed that he, along with Talreja, were planning to re-make the Hollywood movie in Hindi under the Orion Pictures banner.

The director of hit movie "Kal Ho Naa Ho" also said that if he gets the green signal from Warner Bros., he would not direct it himself. He plans to take on board a director who is an expert in making comedies.

However, he had denied media reports that Salman Khan and Govinda have been signed on to play the roles Owen Wilson and Vince Vaugh essayed in the original.

Directed by David Dobkin and written by Steve Faber and Bob Fisher, "Wedding Crashers" is about two bachelors who gatecrash into wedding receptions and charm their way into the hearts of the women guests.

Advani, who is currently busy directing "Chandni Chowk to China", was unavailable for comments on the progress of their proposal submitted to Warner Bros. - neither was Talreja.

Incidentally, "Chandni Chowk to China" is being co-produced by Warner Bros. and Ramesh Sippy Entertainment and Warner Bros. will distribute this Akshay Kumar and Deepika Padukone starrer worldwide.
