Does this set a news precedent for the directors working at Yashraj films?

"All the best to them," smiles Kunal. "Before Mujhse Dosti Karoge I had told Aditya Chopra I wanted to be a producer, but didn't have any resources. He promised he 'd set me up whenever I was ready.

Now it has finally happened. We've an equal stake in the film, like what Sanjay Bhansali did with Sony Pictures for Saawariya or Ashutosh Gowariker did with UTV in Jodhaa-Akbar.

See, all these corporate companies that have come in to make films and the studios they've set up, they need directors to make their films.

Filmmakers like Ashutosh Gowariker, Rakeysh Mehra, Sanjay Bhanasli and me, we're very clear we don't want to get into distribution and other hassles."

Earlier Pradeep Sarkar also co-produced Laga Chunri Mein Daag with Yashraj Films.

"But his stakes were much lower. Yashraj and I have equal stakes in Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic," says Kunal.
