Konkana Sen becomes a social activist

Two time National Award winner, Konkona Sen is all set to become a Bengali literature writer and social activist. Don't get wrong ideas, as she is doing this not in her real life but reel. In her forthcoming film, Meet The President, her character is that of a Bangla writer who is also a social activist.

This film being directed by Kunal Roy Kapur is adapted from a play by the same name. It explores a day in the life of 10 contestants who will stop at nothing as the most powerful man in the world; the US President is all set to come into their town.

Konkona shall be playing one of these ten contestants who are supposed to represent the "New India" in front of the US President.

Shenaz Patel (of Black fame) will also be seen as one of the fellow contestants. In the film, these contestants are supposed to undergo a series of bizarre tests to prove their mettle. Meet The President is a Rohan Sippy production.

Despite her last release, Laaga Chunari Mein Daag not working at the box office, the talented Konkona has her hands full.

She is doing Zoya Akhtar's Luck By Chance in which she plays a Bollywood actress. She is also doing a comedy titled Fantastic co-starring Paresh Rawal and Rahul Khanna to be directed by writer turned director Sanjay Chhel.

Our sources have revealed that she is also being paired opposite Ranbir Kapur in the romantic comedy Wake Up! Sid.
