Talented actor Rahul Bose's much appreciated cameo in Santosh Sivan's "Tahaan" took the audience by surprise.

"People thought Rahul had a lengthy role in the film. But it was a cameo and that took his fans by surprise. Rahul's brief appearance left them impressed nevertheless, " said a close friend of Rahul.

"This is for the first time that Rahul has done a cameo in a film and the positive response has surprised the actor. He never thought that a cameo could make such noteworthy impact, " the friend added.

Rahul has earlier worked with Sivan in his debut Hollywood venture "Before the Rains" that has already received rave reviews in the US and Britain despite the fact that 20 percent of the dialogues are in Malayalam and Tamil.
