Samir Karnik's Heroes has opened to a fairly good response as compared to this week's other release, Roadside Romeo.

The Yash Raj – Walt Disney's first joint venture, the animated film, Roadside Romeo has also been given thumbs down by the critics and its report isn't encouraging.

Heroes on the other hand has got fair reviews and the report of the film is good as well and there is a buzz in the trade that the film may pick up with good word of mouth publicity.

Heroes' opening collections in Punjab, UP and Rajasthan stand good at around 70-80%. Also some centres in Punjab are reporting near full houses.

But the film's collections in Mumbai are not at par with the North. They are a mere 40-50%. Roadside Romeo has got a very poor opening with just a 20-25% response. The reports are not encouraging and the film will find it hard to make a mark at the box office.

However, with the grand Diwali releases, Fashion and Golmaal Returns both releasing on Wednesday, both Heroes and Roadside Romeo wont enjoy the benefit of running a full week with as many shows they begun with on Friday!

Yash Raj with the flopping of Roadside Romeo will now have to bank heavily on their next release, the comeback venture of Aditya Chopra Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi starring Shah Rukh Khan in a double role opposite newcomer Anushka Sharma.
