Looks like being multifaceted is in Hema Malini's nature. How else would you explain her being an actress, danseuse, Rajya Sabha MP, director all in one?

And the fact that she is a firm believer in God is something that doesn't even need to be mentioned and her love for performing art and culture too, actually. Phew!

While we are already tired recounting her many facets, Hema Malini isn't tired exploring new aveneues. And the latest ground that she has her mind and eyes firmly on, in her own words, "I want to master Sanskrit. I want to record a CD of shlokas as much as I wish to learn Rabindra sangeet and sing at least one song."

Hemaji has done Tagore's Bhanusingher Padabali, Rabi O Radha, and recently she went to a Rabindrasangeet sandhya where she heard Rabindrasangeet from singers like Lopamudra Mitra, Swagatha Laxmi Dasgupta and recitation of Tagore's poem from eminenet actor Soumitra Chatterjee.

Hemaji sang her first bengali song with Kishore Kumar in 1975 during Durga Puja. It was releeased by HMV. Later she sang in her films like Haath Ki safai, Dream Girl and Indira.

Hema's mother wanted Hema to learn vocal also but due to her dance she couldnt persue her vocal training. Well, keeping in mind her tireless work and dynamism, the day is not too far when we will hear her singing Rabindra sangeet and reciting Sanskrit shlokas too!
