Sonu Sood has had a great year (2008); after all, he was part of two of the biggest blockbusters of the year namely Jodhaa Akbar and Singh Is Kinng. Even his 'Prem' act in Rajshri's Ek Vivaah Aisa Bhi earned him fair amount of appreciation.

Now the good looking actor seems to be all set for an even better and brighter year ahead. Sonu has signed his first international film City of Life. The film directed by Ali Mustafa is based in the lives of three people (an European, an Arab and an Indian) and talks about how their lives meet a point".

Bollywood Hungama spoke to Sonu who seemed elated with this latest development in his career. "Yes I am excited to be a part of City of Life. It's produced by Filmworks (USA) and directed by Ali Mustafa who has won a few international film awards."

So how did he bag this role and what character does he play in the film? "Well...the makers saw Jodhaa Akbar and were impressed with my work in the film and approached me.

In City of Life, I play Basu, an Indian taxi-driver based in Dubai. He dreams of becoming an actor one day and hence sings and performs at night clubs/ restaurants with the hope that one day some filmmaker will notice him and offer him a film.

A girl from L.A- Alexandra is paired opposite me. The film is an action drama and will be shot majorly in Dubai from January end" signs off Sonu
