Former Miss Universe Lara Dutta narrowly escaped drowning in the sea while shooting with Akshay Kumar for director Suneel Darshan's Andaz. It was an ideal setting. A steamy scene was being shot on Lara and Akshay on a beautiful beach in Cape Town, South Africa. But the ‘reality' interfered with ‘fiction' after a huge tide hit Akshay and Lara, sweeping the duo off their feet and into the seawater.

While Khiladi Akshay, being adept in action and stunts on screen, regained his balance, poor Lara, who does not know how to swim, was carried away by the current some distance into the sea. However, Akshay played a ‘hero' in the real life and waded through high waters to rescue the drowning Lara. Everyone heaved a sigh of relief after Akshay carried Lara to safety.
