Best cinematography Oscar goes to Slumdog Millionaire

Anthony Dod Mantle won the Oscar for best cinematography for his work in the critically acclaimed film "Slumdog Millionaire".

From slums of Mumbai to a glitzy quiz show studio, Mantle handled his camera deftly, and brought forth the misery, pain, joy and celebration of the protagonists on screen in a manner that touched many hearts.

"I could thank thousand of people, which I can't... I really thank Academy for opening this door. I thank my wife, my mom-pa, my brother and sister, Danny (Boyle), and the people who helped me in the movie, " Mantle said while receiving the award here Sunday.
