Director Pryas Gupta's whose The Prisoner has won the best feature film award at the APSA 2008 is all set to release on coming Friday. Now re-titled as Siddharth- The Prisoner, Prayas is now hoping that film is as good a box office success as it has been critically.

Speaking to us, Prayas says, "The Prisoner sounded more like an English title hence I decided to give it an Indian touch by adding the writers name Siddharth to the title."

The film is based on a writer's journey. It is based on the ancient text of the Rig Vedas.

"Yes when I was planning this film I was looking for an original story idea then I started thinking on the lines of the ancient scriptures and hit upon this story of giving up the desire to find freedom.

How few moments of your life are based on the ancient scriptures! There were many religious connotations that I worked on. It was a low budget film and a unique subject." Prayas tells us.

The film has a unique combination of stars like Rajat Kapoor and Sachin Nayak. "I shot the film in two parts. Sachin Nayak had the potential of a budding actor and he was unique. As far as Rajat Kapoor was concerned I did not have the budget to approach him. But he read the script and liked it and agreed immediately."

An architect and visual designer by profession Prayas is now planning a commercial venture. "While my first is a small budget serious film this one will be a complete comedy and will be shot in the Jim Corbett sanctuary, " he reveals.
