Manoj Muntashir has no time to stand and stare. After all, being the writer of a show as big as Star Plus' ‘Sach Ka Saamna' is no small feat.

But then, handling shows of this magnitude is nothing new to Muntashir who has scripted a high profile show like ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati' as well, that too for superstar anchors like Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan, apart from doing many other shows like ‘Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa', ‘Voice of India' etc.

Of the many shows he has done, ‘KBC' holds a special place in his heart for obvious reasons. "There are so many good memories...like Mr Bachchan telling me ‘Tumhari bhasha kafi achhi hai' (your language is quite good), SRK gifting me a book with his remarks on it saying, ‘Thanks Manoj.

‘KBC' would not have been the same without you'." Manoj rubbishes all those talks of SRK trying to force changes into the show due to his alleged cold war with the Big B and attributes it to the different time periods they belong to.

"The phrase ‘lock kiya jaaye' was changed to ‘freeze kiya jaaye' as it was more Shah Rukh's style. He himself came up with the idea. The change was purely a creative call for the betterment of the show," he adds.

Talking about his new show ‘Sach Ka Saamna' that went on air recently, Manoj says despite being a wordsmith it is difficult for him to put the excitement in words when people unfold their biggest secrets in front of their family and the entire nation.

"Tears, emotions, relief, bonding...phew...reality television has never been this real before," he gushes. Ask him how much of the fights on reality shows are scripted and Manoj gets defensive.

He says, "Scripting a reality show doesn't mean compromising on reality. We write the anchor's script, which in turn helps to enhance the drama that's already there. I have never created any situation or conflict."

Though he has penned the lyrics of many fiction shows like ‘Banoo Main Teri Dulhann', ‘Kasautii Zindagii Kay', ‘Reth', etc., Manoj prefers non-fiction as a writer. "I chose to be a non-fiction writer since I have always believed that truth is stranger and more dramatic than fiction," he says.

While television remains his first love, Manoj's been active on the film front too. He has penned the lyrics for many films including ‘Woodstock Villa', ‘Buddha Mar Gaya', etc. and has many more coming shortly. "I have just finished writing lyrics for Ketan Mehta's ‘Rang Rasiya' and Rishi Kapoor-Neetu Singh's comeback movie ‘Do Dooni Chaar'," concludes Muntashir.
