Percept Picture Company (PPC) signed on Neil Nitin Mukesh for a three-film contract after Johnny Gaddar did well.

However, they cancelled the deal after sometime. Jail was one of the three films that were part of the contract. They decided to settle his amount with his payment for Jail only.

However, after New York did good business, they went back to Neil and asked him if he would like to reconsider the contract deal. Neil was upset that they didn't have faith in him and refused.

While PPC's Joint MD Shailendra Singh has denied pulling out of the deal, Neil's agent confirmed it saying that they came back to him after New York's success and wanted to sign him on at the former price even though his market price had increased.
