Punit Malhotra and his uncle, Manish Malhotra got into an argument recently. Manish, who is the designer for Punit's directorial debut, ‘I Hate Luv Stories', had a disagreement over the way he was styling Imran Khan, the lead actor of the film, with Punit.

Punit feels that Imran's character in the film- that of an assistant director (AD) should have a rugged look as he used to be an AD himself and thus knows better.

But Manish did a glam look for Imran and got him a white Calvin Klein backpack and 20 pairs of denims and shoes. Punit lost his cool and had an argument with Manish over this. Finally, they decided to keep 5 denims and two pairs of shoes for the whole film.

Imran confirmed the news and added that Punit suggested putting small stains on the white shoes that Manish got him so that it suited his character. Manish was shocked and grabbed the shoes.

It took them a while to explain to Manish why it was necessary to de-glamorize the look, but he understood later and did a great job, according to Imran.

Meanwhile, Imran's look in the film will be different from before. He has gained weight but still continues to look lean. Punit has been giving him tips on his look as he used to be an assistant director himself.
