Versatile Tabu is back after a three-year hiatus to showcase an Indian middle-class family's perpetual search for a suitable groom for their daughter in the comedy "Toh Baat Pakki", which releases Friday.

Marking the Hindi directorial debut of noted Marathi filmmaker Kedar Shinde, the movie also features Sharman Joshi, Yuvika Chaudhary and Vatsal Seth. It has been produced by Ramesh S. Taurani.

The National Award-winning actress was last seen in a blink and miss appearance in Shah Rukh Khan-starrer "Om Shanti Om" in 2007. "With 'Toh Baat Pakki', you will witness a new side of mine, " she had been quoted as saying.

Tabu's confidence was enough to leave Sharman nervous.

"It was wonderful working with Tabu in 'Toh Baat Pakki'. She is a stunning actor, but I was very worried about how to break the ice with her initially. But she was very sweet and friendly, so all of us gelled very well on the sets, " Sharman told.

"Toh Baat Pakki" is about a middle class woman Rajeshwari (Tabu), who is obsessed with getting her younger sister Nisha married to a well-settled boy. How the choice of groom oscillates from Sharman to Vatsal and vice versa is what forms the rest of the story.

The film is based in a small town and Rajeshwari exemplifies the quintessential Indian middle class woman who aspires to be part of the high society.

Married to Vinay (Ayub Khan), a cashier in a bank, with two children, Rajeshwari's dream is to get her sister Nisha married to the best suitable guy within their Saxena community.

As the story unfolds, Rajeshwari finds engineering student Rahul (Sharman) and offers him a place in her house as a paying guest. But when she learns he is not interested in marriage, she devices a plan to bring her sister closer to Rahul.

Nisha's innocence and simplicity impresses Rahul and eventually they fall in love.

When the marriage is set, the story takes a twist as another boy Yuvraaj (Vatsal) from the same community comes to Rajeshwari's house. He has his own business and is waiting for his house to be built...and he is potentially a bigger catch.

So, Rajesjwari now tries to set up Nisha with Yuvraaj.

Low on buzz and meant for a niche audience, the small-budget "Toh Baat Pakki" is succeeding Shah Rukh's "My Name Is Khan" at the box office.
