Salim-Sulaiman, after being the first Indian musicians to be nominated for an Emmy Award are now set to make
another record. The corporate body associated with FIFA recently approached the music composer duo to
compose a song for the upcoming FIFA World Cup, which will be held in South Africa in June.
Since the corporate body is made up of mainly Indians, they wanted Salim-Sulaiman to score a sports anthem
similar to Chak De India. The composers have scored music for a number of popular Bollywood films like Fashion,
Kurbaan, Chak De India, and so on.
The song will be on Africa, rather than on football as the song should last longer than the duration of the World Cup.
Sidd Coutto, the vocalist of rock band Tough On Tobacco will be rendering the vocals.
Jeanne Merchant, Salim's wife, has written the song. It outlines Africa's journey through its highs and lows.
Meanwhile, they are awaiting the release of Kites, where they have composed an orchestral background score, and
also the release of Nagesh Kukunoor's film, Aashayein.
