Shankar Mahadevan firmly believes music has tremendous healing power. He, along with his partners Ehsaan and Loy, wants to create music that people will enjoy listening and relating to.

He feels that the reason people loved the music of the film Kal Ho Na Ho was because they could feel the emotions hidden deep in every song. He finds it most exciting to give a performance in front of a live audience

. According to him, when a singer records a song in a studio, he or she doesn't understand the depth of the song and thus can't determine to what extent the audience will appreciate it.

It is the loud clapping of the audience in response to an artist's performance which is the best music to the performer's ears. Which is why, they try and never miss a chance to perform.

Shankar admits that he really enjoys performing in front of a live audience. He, along with Ehsaan and Loy are set to go on a world tour and the tour means a lot to them as it will provide them with a big challenge.

He reveals that there is a vast difference in performing in a reality show and in front of a live audience. He claims that their primary focus is on musical content, whether it is a live performance or a recording session in the studios.

He hopes they can spread the message of love, friendship and peace while on the tour as music has the strength to bridge all gaps and boundaries across nations.
