Kunal Khemu hurt his leg badly last week while shooting for an action sequence for Rohit Shetty's Golmaal 3 in Goa. And this week, he made it worse by not resting it properly. Currently he is using a cane to walk around, and is keeping all the weight off his foot as the doctor has advised him to rest for four weeks.

Jet ski
Says Kunal, "We were shooting a water sequence, and I was on a jet ski. The sea was very rough that day. After wrap up I was coming back and I didn't see a huge wave come up behind me at full speed and crash into me.

I toppled over and my right foot got entangled. I was in pain and thought maybe I had fractured my ankle as I couldn't walk but the doctor said it was just a sprain."

Tremble
He continued to shoot, despite the pain and aggravated the injury. Kunal admits sheepishly, "There were 20 actors on location and a huge climax scene was being shot. So after a day's break I started shooting again. During those scenes there was a lot of running and walking on the sand, and my foot started to tremble.

However I ignored it, and continued moving around. But three days ago, I had to walk through a crowd for a scene, and my ankle spasmed so badly that I fell down."

After pack up that day, he had to be taken to a hospital, which is an hour away from the location, in Madhgaon.

Subhead
The orthopedic at the hospital noticed that there was bruising on the ankle and suggested an MRI scan. Kunal adds, "The scan showed a tissue tear that normally needs to be rested for 4-6 weeks but I can't take time off as there were combination dates of so many actors." He is currently on crutches, wearing a bandage on the foot and taking painkillers.

Supportive cast
Kunal also has to visit the hospital after pack-up on some days when the pain becomes unbearable.

He confirms, "Yes, it's a long drive but it's the only hospital that side of Goa. My director Rohit Shetty and every member of the unit have been extremely supportive.

Rohit is making sure I don't do too much running or action scenes and aggravate the injury further. I just need to take care of my ankle for the next three weeks so I rest as much as I can in between shots."

Besides Kunal, the film has Ajay Devgan, Kareena Kapoor, Mithun Chakraborty, Arshad Wasri, Shreyas Talpade, and Ratna Pathak Shah.
