Seems like our filmmakers are keen to recreate the era gone by. Several films have been set in earlier times.

We saw the retro look in Farah Khan's Om Shanti Om too The recent Badmaash Company and Shootout at Lokhandwala were set in the 1990's. Two upcoming films Action Replay and Once Upon a Time in Mumbai will once more bring back the earlier age on screen.

Vipul Shah's Action Replay, starring Akshay Kumar and Aishwarya Rai will revisit the disco age of Bollywood. Set in the 1980's, it has the lead pair going in to complete the retro mode with regard to sets, costumes etc. The two have even shot for a song, paying tribute to the jodis of yesteryears.

Milan Luthria's Once Upon a Time in Mumbai brings back the 1970's, the age of mafia, smuggling and cabaret. The film is about the underworld and stars Kangana Ranaut, Ajay Devgan and Emraan Hashmi. The filmmakers have given special attention to the look and styling of the characters to get the mood right.

That's not all – Ashutosh Gowarikar's next Khelenge Hum Jee Jaan Se revolves around the freedom struggle. Blast from the past anyone?
