The actress picks her choice of flicks...

HAATHI MERE SAATHI: The film starred my mom (Tanuja) with Rajesh Khanna. This was one of the first films I saw of my mother. She thought because it had elephants, my sister Kajol and I would enjoy it. But to her utter dismay, we howled (and how!) when we saw her character in the film harming Ramu the elephant!

We believed that she had actually 'killed' the animal and all her efforts to explain that it was make-believe for the movie didn't help. In sheer desperation, she had to take us to a circus to tell us that Ramu was alive by showing us the elephants in the circus!

RETURN OF THE JEDI: I don't know how many times I must have seen this Star Wars Episode VI film but I still remember the shock that I would get while pressing the eject button on the video player at my maternal uncle Jaideep Samarth's place. But I would still continue to play and keep on ejecting the cassette. Every time I would get a mild shock as the player had a problem.

ENEMY MINE: My mom and me always loved watching sci-fi movies but not Kajol. We would have back-to-back viewings throughout the day. This movie starring Dennis Quaid was set in an alien world where humans and a reptilian humanoid race battled. Though it was about their fight, there was also a love story in it.

HAIWAN: This film was made by my paternal uncle Debu Mukerji. He made me, my mom, Kajol, several of my cousins like Sharbani, Siddharth, Samrat Mukerji feature in a scene in the movie.

We had to be part of the audience in a film theatre for a scene. We had all gone to Filmalaya Studios to shoot for it. It was a blink-and-you-miss role but it was a big family outing for us.

ROMAN HOLIDAY: I used to watch this classic only because of Audrey Hepburn. I used to feel that she reminded me of my mother and always felt that she looked like my mother. So it was like seeing my mom in Roman Holiday.
