With Eid and Ganesh Chaturthi falling on the same day, Bollywood celebrities like Amitabh Bachchan and Shammi Kapoor sent out their greetings online Saturday and wished for peace and togetherness among communities at all times.

"Two festivals, two faiths, two celebrations. One day, one belief. Peace, friendship, togetherness always, " Amitabh Bachchan posted on his Twitter page.

Said Anupam Kher: "Eid Mubarak and Happy Ganesh Chaturthi. May God bless us all with peace and love and happiness."

"Ganesh is the lord of new beginnings, so happy Ganesh Chaturthi everyone, " director Shekhar Kapur posted.

Most hoped that the festivals coinciding this year would fade away differences.

"Eid Mubarak and Ganpati Bappa Morya. Let us all never differentiate after this day. Positivity and peace looking forward from now on, " Arjun Rampal posted.

Some celebrities also revealed what they had planned for the day.

"Morning has been flooded with our first day of puja. We keep only for a day and a half, so our visarjan tomorrow. Dinner at mums to celebrate Eid, " Hrithik Roshan's wife Sussanne posted.

Abhishek Bachchan said he was heading back home from Rome for the festive season.

"Done with my work in Rome. And now heading back home. Love Mumbai during Ganesh Chaturthi! Maximum city goes into hyperdrive, awesome, " Abhishek posted.
