Knock Out producer Sohail Maklai approached Sherlyn Chopra for an item song opposite Sanjay Dutt but the starlet refused.

Although the producer assured the starlet that the track had the potential of being a big hit she stuck to her guns.

Sherlyn's friend says, "She was struggling with low self-esteem for quite some time. Not anymore.

She has been signed by a leading production house and has been asked to sign a non-disclosure agreement.

Sherlyn recently walked out of Vandana Sajnani's English play Fourplay. Says Chopra, "I now know what I want in life. Guess, I was born to be a late bloomer. Better late than never."
