The Commonwealth Games opening ceremony was "stunning", "sensational" and "spectacular" -- this is the verdict of the Indian film fraternity. Amitabh Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan, Shekhar Kapur, Diya Mirza and Riteish Deshmukh and others have taken to social networking sites to cheer India for bringing alive a potpourri of Indian culture at the ceremony.

Some like Kunal Kohli, Rahul Bose and Riteish pointed out the huge applause Indians gave to welcome the Pakistan contingent. They feel it's a mark of maturity for both countries. Here's what the celebrities have to say:

Diya Mirza: A brilliant showcase of our culture, diversity, rich musical, dance and performing heritage! What a feeling for those who experienced it live! Every Indian should be proud! The CWG opening ceremony was just breathtaking.

Amitabh: India won again! At the Commonwealth Games it struck up a fantastic opening event, defying all the criticism and pain of the last days. The show was spectacular and we need to be proud of all those that put in hours and years of hard work under most trying circumstances.

Abhishek Bachchan: Saw some glimpses of the CWG opening ceremony on TV. Looked sensational!

Shekhar Kapur: Huge swelling of national pride from everyone who saw the opening ceremony of CWG. Good to see Indians still get together despite all divisions.

Kunal Kohli: Wasn't it heartwarming that after our home team, the maximum claps were for Pakistan at the CWG opening! Unity and peace in the sub-continent will make us the strongest in the world. Let's not fall prey to politics, let's try and give peace a chance.

Rahul Bose: The biggest cheer in the stadium was for Pakistan... goes to show the conflicted relationship we share.

Arjun Rampal: CWG opening ceremony making us all feel proud and is a reminder to all that sports and sportsmen are beyond politics. Such wonderful energy!

Riteish Deshmukh: Congratulations CWG on a spectacular opening ceremony. SUPPERRR DUPPPPPERR SHOWWWW! Great to see a huge cheer by the crowd to welcome Pakistan mark of a good host. Proud to be an Indian.

Vishal Dadlani: Wow! They pulled it off! Awesome! Congratulations India, for the CWG opening ceremony. Now keep the good vibe coming!

Rhea Kapoor: Spectacular opening! Loved the yoga sequence...actually loved it all. The Games begin!

Kunal Kapoor: The opening ceremony was superb!! Hopefully everything else will be as good. Fingers crossed.
