Bollywood actress Preity Zinta hopes her Indian Premier League (IPL) team Kings XI Punjab, which was axed recently, would overcome adversity.

"Thanks for all your support for Kings XI Punjab! If you know you are right and done nothing wrong then god and the forces of the universe have to support you! We shall overcome!" Preity posted on her Twitter page Monday.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) axed the team for violating franchisee conditions, especially on ownership.

Preity co-owned the team with her former beau Ness Wadia and two other businessmen.
