Salman Khan was recently in Norway for the premiere of his hit Arbaaz Khan Production's Dabangg –at the Norway Film Festival that showcases films of various languages.

If sources are to be believed the screening of the film in Norway received an unexpected reaction with the screening opening to a packed house only to further receive a standing ovation.

"Though there were several films being screened during the festival – Salman Khan's Dabangg thoroughly entertained audiences and people were shouting out his name throughout the film"says an eye witness.

Further on the security was upped at the hotel that housed Salman Khan in Norway since his fans would gather outside for hours on end to catch a glimpse of the star.

Adds the eye witness "Salman was put up at a hotel near the venue and once people were aware of this there was complete hysteria as his fans gathered outside the hotel from 6am to 7pm....the hotel authorities called for extra security to ensure that Salman had a peaceful stay amidst the roaring crowds that gathered to catch a glimpse of the star".

History in the making Salman Khan starrer Dabangg roared at the box office as it opened to a first day net collection of a whopping 14.40 crores - the highest till date at the box office.As per official sources the film has created a record for earning the figure of 48 crores, which is a whopping 6 crores more than 3 Idiots which collected 41 Crores in the opening weekend proving yet again that Salman Khan is the darling of the masses.
