Global Indian Music Awards (GIMA) is the first of its kind in India. It is a award function
organized to honor the stalwarts and the budding artists of all sections of the music industry, which had its inaugural edition
on Wednesday in Mumbai. It marked a huge reunion of many legendary singers, musicians, lyricists and ofcourse, the
Bollywood stars.
Among all the Bollywood celebs, Dabangg star Salman Khan was one of the biggest attractions, who performed to few
numbers from his blockbuster film to which the crowd went gaga for him.
His co-star Sonakshi Sinha was not left behind and
she also took to the stage to entertain the crowd. Speaking on the occasion, Salman said that music is the utmost
important factor for the Indian films and it feels great to be part of such an award function that honors the musicians for their
contributions.
According to Salman, whenever a film is made, music is the first thing that is released to the viewers so it acts like an
introduction to any movie. He added that films cannot probably do without music because they are the soul of most of the
films. So, the musicians and the singers deserves great respect in the industry.
Apart from Salman, others stars like Kareena Kapoor, Rietesh Deshmukh and Sonakshi Sinha also graced the event. Actors
Shreyas Talpade and Dia Mirza hosted the award event along with filmmaker Sajid Khan.
Some of the legendary names of the Indian music industry like the Awards Goodwill Ambassador Asha Bhosle, Shankar
Mahadevan, Ustad Rashid Khan, Shaan, Pt. Vishva Mohan Bhatt, Sunidhi Chauhan, Shreya Ghoshal and Salim-Suleiman
were present at this great musical award function.
