NDTV Imagine planned to rope in the drama queen back to the small screen so they launched the show' Rakhi ka Insaaf'. What they did expect was that such cheap entertainment will now give them the high TRPs
that they were expecting after 'Rakhi ka Swayamvar' became a hit.
This time on the show Rakhi Sawant, the item girl, drew attention for all the wrong reasons. First, it was a participant who allegedly died after being humiliated on the show.
Laxman, 25, had participated on
'Rakhi ka Insaaf' due to his marital problems with his wife Anita. Instead of sorting out the issue, Rakhi Sawant went on to humiliate him and even call him names on the program aired on 23rd October.
Unable to cope up with the mental trauma, Laxman stopped eating and eventually breathed his last on 10th November.
The controversy queen, Rakhi Sawant, is back in the news again as her show made the channel receive an advisory notice from the National Commission for Women for using objectionable language. The "tone, tenor
and language" has invited the wrath of the law. NCW wants the channel to avoid the use of such offensive language that lead to "public outrage".
NDTV Imagine should have imaged the consequences of having an item girl, who was so many problems herself, play an agony aunt. Calling names and using abusive language is Rakhi's forte. Won't the channel
encashing that be up for trouble?
