Child actress Ulka Gupta, whom we know as the young 'Jhansi Ki Rani' of Zee TV, started her acting career just at the age of eight. She was first seen in Star One's show 'Resham Dankh' but she was noticed first in Zee TV's prime time show 'Saath Phere' in which she played the role of young Savari, the dark skinned daughter of the protagonist Saloni.
Ulka was noticed by the makers of 'Jhansi Ki Rani' from this role and she was selected to play the young 'Jhansi Ki Rani' aka Manu. She ruled everyone's heart for more than a year with her powerful performance and strong dialogue delivery. After completing her role as 'Manu', Ulka was seen performing at various functions but was never seen on any other show.
Now, we hear that the young lady is preparing for her Bollywood debut and here also she will get to do something historic. Ulka has been signed to play the young role of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati in a Bollywood film. Mayawati has made herself a historical figure in the Indian political scenario with whatever positive or negative demands of her.
It is a drastic change for Ulka because she played an extremely positive and strong character of 'Manu' and now she will play the younger part of a allegedly corrupt political leader.
Considering Ulka's record, we are sure she will carry this character with same zeal and perfection. She will start shooting for this film in Dehradun and is very excited about this new project. However, the young actress denied revealing the name of the movie.
Recently, an NGO in Delhi honored her with a woman achiever's award. It is no doubt a big achievement at such a small age. We hope she has done her home work well for playing Mayawati and will add another crown to her acting career!
