Television actor Rohit Roy, who got his first recognition by playing the lead role in the serial Swabhimaan in 1995, is trying his hands in the Bengali film industry these days. He has been a renowned name in the television industry but could not do much in Bollywood.

Rohit made his Bengali film debut with Surajit Dhar directed 'Pa Ma Ga Re Saa' in 2009. This was a flop even though it starred renowned names like Reshmi Ghosh, Saswata Chatterjee, Tanushree Shankar, Biswajit Chakraborty, Bikram Ghosh and Gauri Karnik.

However, this did not demoralize the Bengali film directors to sign on Rohit once again for a Bengali film. Veteran Bengali film director Prabhat Roy has signed Rohit for the lead role in his next movie 'Bhorer Alo', which also stars Rituparna Sengupta, Priyanshu Chatterjee and Riya Sen. Rohit says that he was shocked to get this offer after the failure of his Bengali debut movie.

Rohit's wife Mansi Joshi is also a renowned television actress, who was the female lead in the serial Kkusum. Rohit says that his wife has a Bengali look even if she is from a Gujarati background but she can speak Bengali fluently.

So, he looks forward acting with her in a Bengali film but it will not be possible now because she is busy with her family. He also wants her to get comfortable with Bollywood first before entering Bengali film industry.

We hope 'Bhorer Alo' brings some light in Rohit Roy's Bengali film career too!
