Fimmaker Ram Gopal Varma went through a series of flops since last few years so he was pinning his hopes on his latest venture Rakta Charitra, which got released in two parts. The film received quite a good response in South with its Tamil and Telugu version but it could not do well with the Hindi version.

The failure of the Hindi version made Ramu very disappointed and he thinks it could do well if the producer Madhu Mantena, who is also his first cousin, would have concentrated more in its promotions. Mantena, who also produced Ghajini, is being blamed for this failure by the director. Ramu seems to be very upset with the producer and is not in good terms with his cousin now.

RGV said that his ambitious project was not promoted enough across the country by the producer or it could do good business. Surya starrer Rakta Charitra 2 was accepted well in the Southern states but Vivek Oberoi failed to create the same craze in other parts of the country with the Hindi version.

The director lost interest in the film when he found that the producer has not promoted it the way it should be. However, RGV is not ready to accept the fallout openly and denied terming it to be another rumor.

But, can we really blame only Mantena for not promoting the film properly? It could also be that the theme was not liked by Bollywood fans!
