Just when he was about to be written off, Dil Chahta Hai proved things otherwise and Akshaye Khanna`s career got a fresh lease of life. Offers are pouring in, but Akshaye is not too keen on doing cliché roles. So, Akshaye will now attempt to play a villain.

The film is to be directed by Abbas-Mustan and the film`s mahurat was held recently in Jaipur. Rumours have it that the role was first to be done by Abhishek Bachchan, but when asked the director duo denied it saying that the film that had Abhishek was a different script all together, while this film had totally fresh story. Hope this is one more feather in Akshaye`s cap!
