Kangna Ranaut essays the role of a free-spirited girl from Delhi University in Tanu Weds Manu.

When director, Aanand L Rai narrated the character to the actress, she immediately related it to one of her friends during her theatre days in Delhi.

Says Kangna, "My friend was just like Tanu. I have thought of her and recollected the fun we have had. Her nuances have helped me model my character."

Kangs has not met her pal since years but now she wishes to reunite with her through Tanu Weds Manu.
