Ekta Kapoor's mother Shobhaa gifts her luxury sedan

The latest addition to Ekta Kapoor's burgeoning fleet of cars is a Jaguar XJR she recently received as a gift from her mother Shobhaa.

Ask her what the occasion was, and she tells you its just because her mom thinks she "works really hard." The TV czarina has always had her heart set on the brand.

She justifies her pick, "I chose this one because it's a high end car and because not many people own it."

Kapoor is also biased to the colour black as far as vehicles go. But this one will have a burgundy hue.

She notes, "I have several black cars so mom decided to get me one in a different colour." The car hasn't been custom-fitted but has a classy off-white interior.

She first took it to the Siddhivinayak temple, with her on foot and the vehicle following her. After that, she drove it to the Bandra-Worli Sea Link, one of her favourite spots in the city.

Ekta takes the car to office daily but complains, "The roads to my office are under construction. It's sacrilege to use the car on such roads."
