/> India's Nightingale Lata Mangeshkar will be watching and praying for the Indian team when they play the World Cup finals today.

"If they win I'll be the happiest woman on this earth. If they don't I'd still be happy just see them play a fair game and engaging game of cricket. We must stop putting so much pressure on them to perform.

No one can predict how a cricketer performs once he is on the field. The individual performance depends on so many factors. Ask me. I've been singing for so many decades. I've my good days and bad days, " she rationalizes.

The indefatigable cricket aficionado that she is, Lata Mangeshkar was riveted to her television screen on Wednesday from the beginning of the match till the very end.

"I didn't eat any meals, didn't move from the television. I was frozen in front of the television. There was so much excitement in our house about the match. I couldn't sleep till 1 am. Now on Saturday I'll be even more anxious. "

A huge fan of Sachin Tendulkar's cricket Lataji refuses to be disappointed by his inability to hit a century in Mohali on Wednesday.

Says the Nightingale, "In fact I feel if Sachin had not made those 85 runs India would not have won. "

And though she feels Dhoni was not in form on Wednesday at Mohali Lataji considers Dhoni a "lucky captain" for the Indian team.

She exults, "I am fond of all the cricketers...Raina, Gambhir, Yuvraj, Dhoni...they're all good. But like I said they have their good and bad days. Just like I do when I'm singing. I'm going to pray very hard for them to win on Saturday. I wish them lots of luck. Ishwar ki kripa aapke saath rahe. "

If we didn't see India's most famous cricket fan Lata Mageshkar at Mohali for the Indo-Pak match, it is with good reason. Though she would have loved to be there to feel the thrill of her team playing first-hand she stayed away because of the war-like atmosphere at the stadium.

"It seemed more like a war between India and Pakistan than a game of cricket. Why put so much pressure on our boys?" Lataji asks gently.
