Rs 5,000 lost to A-Kon job

The much-awaited concert of international artist Akon, which was held at a five-star hotel last night ended on a sad note. Fans who attended the concert after paying more than Rs 5, 000 created a ruckus after the artist did not perform.

The concert which was supposed to start at 7. 30 pm had the artist walking in at 10 pm. As soon as the announcement of the artist coming to the venue made, his manager announced that Akon would not be able to able to perform because the police were standing near the stage. Though he will come and wave to the crowd.

The artist gave a three-minute speech saying that he hope that his Pune fans did not want him to get arrested. "If you want to listen to me, come to Delhi. " Fans were not happy to see him just cut a birthday cake.

The crowd started to create a ruckus and demanded their money back and even refused to leave the venue till they got the money back. They started banging the tables and television set at the hotel lobby after which the police had to intervene.

"We want our money back. This is cheating. I have paid Rs 5, 000 for the passes. Not to see Akon cut a cake, " said Akash Shah was there with his friends.

The Mundhwa police station officials had a tough time managing the crowd. Organiser Aryan Navale of Stratosphere Entertainment did not answer calls.

The spokesperson from Netsurf Entertainment, which is organising his concerts in Gurgaon and Bangalore said the Pune organiser did not acquire foreign artist performance licence because of which the concert got cancelled. He added that fans would be refunded the full amount.
