Read on to find out if the director or writer of 'Haunted' won the battle to keep their choice of climax...

Filmmakers usually pander to the whims and fancies of their stars when deciding to change the ending/climax of their films. In Vikram Bhatt's case, he simply followed his heart.

Bhatt got into a fight with his writer Amin Hajee over the climax of his supernatural love story in 3-D, Haunted. And this, after the climax had already been shot!

Says the director, "After we shot the climax I felt that the ending of film should have been different as this wasn't the meaning of love. I believe that love has become a barter and is selfish and my film's climax was this."

Ask questions

He adds, "I later realised that that was what I felt about love before. Today, I ask myself does a love exist where the love can survive without the other.

I decided to give the climax my current perspective on love love is unselfish and it's about what you can give and not get from it. My writer and I had endless arguments but we finally reached a conclusion that love can be selfless. I have had enough time to sit back and think of love."

A ghost lurks

Vikram's love story in Haunted is about his actors, Mahakshay Chakraborthy and Tia Bajpai (plays a ghost). "When Mimoh falls in love with Tia, who's a ghost, his love story is about what he does for her and how can he save her if she's already dead.

But he's completely in love with her and that's the way he feels. I am happy I changed the climax according to what my heart felt at that time."
