Did Jimmy Sheirgill steal Shahid Kapoor's 'Mausam' look months before the latter's release?

Jimmy Sheirgill may well have stolen Shahid Kapoor's thunder ahead of the release of the latter's Mausam later this year.

Sheirgill has aped Shasha's air force look, right down to the moustache for his home production, a Punjabi film called Dharti. The film released last Friday.

One casual glance reveals that it's possible to mistake one film for the other, given how similar their looks are, the actors' heights notwithstanding.

In Dharti, Jimmy plays a squadron leader who sports similar face fuzz, military buzz and aviator shades as Shahid (who plays an F16 pilot in his dad's debut) does in Mausam. The shots are also taken from similar angles.

The film's earlier posters have Jimmy in a different get up, minus the moustache but recent posters reveal his look as being inspired by Shahid's look in Mausam.

It is obvious that the makers decided to ape Shahid's look after seeing Mausam's posters at the last moment. Why, is anyone's guess.
