Filmmaker Mukul Deora comes from a family of politicians. His father Murli Deora is union minister for corporate affairs and brother Milind a member of parliament. The "Bheja Fry 2" producer doesn't rule out a career in the corridors of power later, but right now wants to show his creative side.

"I have seen that joining politics means giving up your whole life to serve the country, which is great. But I think I will do it sometime in the future because if I join politics now, I won't have time to do other things, " Mukul, who turned producer with "Bheja Fry 2", told in an interview.

"I want to express myself in different creative areas. I don't think I would be able to do that with politics. But I'm not averse to the idea. As a thinking person, who wouldn't want to see a change in the society? In our country, so much improvement is needed and one feels like contributing, " he added.

Mukul started his showbiz career as a DJ with Bhavishyavani, then he moved to experimental sound performances and released his debut album "Stray" in 2006. It was followed by "What Heart" last year.

Now Mukul has started a production house called Watchtower Entertainment and director Sagar Ballary's "Bheja Fry 2" is his debut production venture.

"I always wanted to make movies, but you can't make movies you don't like or understand. It's only in the last five years that audiences taste changed and people started appreciating different films, which I liked, and these films did well, " he said.

"Hence I decided to produce 'Bheja Fry 2', even before the script was in place. Sagar and I met, talked about many ideas and decided to do a sequel to the film ('Bheja Fry'). I bought the rights to the project and he started working on the script, " he added.

Landing in theatres June 17, the part two retains Vinay Pathak from the original. It also has a new cast that includes Minissha Lamba, Amol Gupte, Kay Kay Menon, Suresh Menon and Rahul Vohra.

"From a situational comedy, it has become an adventure comedy. It's bigger now, but the core is the same. This time protagonist Bharat Bhushan (Vinay) will have a love interest too, " informed Mukul.

The original "Bheja Fry" both critically acclaimed and commercially successful, so are they under pressure to meet the same standards with the sequel?

"I think it's always good to have stakes high. It's better to have high expectations. We have something to look up to. It's a good challenge that we have.

"But it is not a pressure for us. We just want to make sure that it's a good film and people like it. It's a very good sequel. We have not moved away from the core, just expanded, " explained the young producer.

Mukul's next project will be a film adaptation of Arvind Adiga's Booker Award-winning novel "The White Tiger", which he is co-producing with Hollywood producer John Hart of "Revolutionary Road" fame and New York- based Patrick Milling Smith.

"John Hart and I have bought the rights of the book and we will start working on it soon. We have to attach a director, it's a long way ahead. No plans as of now. We have to see. It's an exciting project, " he said.
