Prachi Desai failed to show up at an event where she had to share stage with Jacqueline Fernandez

Prachi Desai failed to show up at the announcement of Mahesh and Mukesh Bhatt's two-film deal with Fox Star Studios, namely Informer and Raaz 3. While Prachi stars in the former with Emraan Hashmi and Randeep Hooda, Jacqueline Fernandez has been chosen as the lead in the latter.

A source present at the event held on Tuesday says, "All the lead actors and directors were present at the event. Mahesh Bhatt kept saying that Prachi will be joining them shortly, but she never came."

When we tried to find the reason behind her absence, sources close to the Bhatt camp revealed, "The reason why she was absent was Jacqueline. PD is uncomfortable sharing space with the Sri Lankan actress, who has been slowly treading her path upwards."

Fallout with Ekta

However, another source adds, "There is a buzz that PD has had a fallout with her mentor Ekta Kapoor. Maybe she wasn't prepared to answer related questions and skipped the event to avoid the media."

Vijay Singh, CEO Fox Star confirmed her absence saying, "Prachi could not be present as she was stuck in a bad traffic jam and everyone has faced that at some point of time in our lives, though it would have been great to have her here with us."

Different story

Kunal Deshmukh, who will direct Informer, tells us a different story altogether.

He says, "She did manage to come but was late and the press had left by then. She was shooting for Shrishti Behl's film with John Abraham and had told us that it would be difficult for her to make it to the event. We were hoping that she could come."

Prachi says, "I have been shooting for my film with John. I did try to make it but got there later at the end of the conference."
