Pyaar Ka Punchnama director rewrites script of new film, worried by its similarity with 3 Idiots

Director of Pyaar Ka Punchnama Luv Ranjan is all set to direct his next film, tentatively titled Saathi.

But we hear that Ranjan had to take the script to the drawing board after he realised that there were similarities between his film and 2009 top grosser 3 Idiots. The young director was wary of facing plagiarism charges.

"It was actually one sequence that was identical. It's the sequence where my hero and his friends gatecrash a wedding, which was exactly like the one where Aamir and his friends gatecrash Kareena's sister's wedding in 3 Idiots, " admits Ranjan.

The director however says that the film was written long before 3 Idiots. "But who will believe me? They will say I copied 3 Idiots. And the last thing I need is for people to accuse me of plagiarism."
