Says Emraan Hashmi, who left a shoot at Hyderabad to attend Murder 2's success party in Mumbai on Wednesday, which was later cancelled because of the blasts

When Emraan Hashmi boarded an evening flight from Hyderabad to Mumbai on Wednesday, he didn't anticipate that disaster would strike the city the same day.

He had left the cast and crew of Dirrty Picture in Ramoji Rao Film City to celebrate the success of his recently released film, Murder 2.

However, the party was cancelled because of the triple blasts that rocked Mumbai that evening.

A well-placed source at Balaji Motion Pictures told this reporter that the producer of Dirrty Picture learnt about the blasts shortly after landing at Mumbai airport.

"That's when he understood that the time and atmosphere in the city was not right to celebrate the success of the film, " said our informer, adding that the actor seemed a bit irritated with the turn of events.

On a happier note, Emraan was delighted that he could spend time with his wife, Parveen, and son Ayaan.

"He's been in Hyderabad for a few days and was already missing his son. So he was glad that he could give all his time to Ayaan after the party was called off, " said our source.

Back to work

However, as he couldn't keep the cast and crew waiting, the actor took the first flight to Hyderabad the following morning, and rushed straight to the sets to resume shooting with director Milan Luthria and co-star Vidya Balan.

While they were all equally shocked by the turn of events in Mumbai, it is learnt that they also made light of Emraan's quick return trip, likening it to 'Mumbai darshan'.

Emraan was in the midst of completing his scenes. But he summed up his quick trip in a text-message, stating, "When our own people are dying, we can't be celebrating."
