Tollywood actor Rituparna Sengupta feels that women prefer minimal jewellery due to the busy schedule they are living now-a- days.

After inaugurating an exclusive showroom of Nakshatra diamond jewellery store called ‘Legendary Gems' at City Center 1 on Thursday, she said: "Women prefer minimal jewellery these days as they have to move about and travel a lot in their busy life. "

The Nakshatra store is the second exclusive Kolkata store of the jewellery brand which is owned by the Gitanjali Group.

The new collection of the brand called the ‘Nakshatra Bridal Collection' was also unveiled at the occasion.

The collection offers a wide range of collection of extravagant bridal jewellery inspired by the popular Indian floral motif and is sleek compared to the traditional designs.

"Diamonds are women's best friend, " Rituparna said.

She also shared her first acquaintance with Nakshatra jewellery when her mother gifted a beautiful necklace on her birthday.

"Nakshatra always needs celebration as it speaks the heart of a girl, " she said.

Launched in the year 2000, Nakshatra has achieved the position of one of the leading brands of diamond jewellery brands of India.

The brand is also eyeing the suburbs and smaller towns and is coming up with their stores at those places.

The opening of the store is strategically well-timed as the festive season sees a lot of demand for jewellery, especially on Diwali.

On being asked how Rituparna will celebrate the upcoming festivals, she said that she is excitingly looking forward to ‘Bhai Phota' when all her cousins will gather at her house to celebrate the occasion.

She said she is also awaiting release of her upcoming film ‘Agunpakhi' and her next Bollywood flick ‘SRK' where she has been cast opposite to Vinay Pathak.
