The Bachchan residence witnessed large number of B-town celebs attending the 'godh bharai' ceremony (baby shower) of actor Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, who is expecting her first child.

The long list of celebrity guests, who attended the event on Tuesday, included names like Asha Parekh, Sonali Bendre, Saroj Khan, Twinkle Khanna, Dimple Kapadia, Manyata Dutt, Vaibhavi Merchant, Bipasha Basu, Urmila Matondkar.

Abhishek Bachchan, who took a day's leave from shooting to attend the ceremony, tweeted on Wednesday morning: "Good morning everyone. Thank you so much for all the wishes for Aishwarya on her Godh Bharai. Read out some of your messages to her."

The junior Bachchan tweeted: "So after a day filled with tradition, indian customs and LADIES It's back to work. Gotta start PLAYING again for PLAYERS!"

Jaya Bachchan organized a grand 'godh bharai' on Tuesday at their residence in Mumbai for daughter-in-law Aishwarya.

Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai tied nuptial knots in 2007.
