Actress Deepika Padukone's cousin has gifted a self-designed jersey to her "Desi Boyz" co-star John Abraham.

Amit Padukone has bonded well with John since they met on the sets of the film.

"Amit was introduced to John on the sets of 'Desi Boyz' and the two grew to be close friends. Amit has great respect for John and wanted to gift him something. He designed a jersey for the actor, who was overwhelmed, " said an informed source.

John and Amit have even started working out together.

An overwhelmed John said: "One day I came home to find a jersey lying on my bed along with some goodies. Amit and I have become good friends. We are always surrounded by people from our own industry. It's good to relate to people from outside. It helps you stay grounded."

"Desi Boyz", produced by Eros International, marks the directorial debut of Rohit Dhawan, son of filmmaker David Dhawan. Also starring Akshay Kumar and Chitrangada Singh, the film will release Nov 25.
