Dirty picture is no dirty film, said Vidya Balan here as the film's team for promotion hit Kolkata, a city with which the lead actress now has a deep bond.

"The name of the film is dirty but the film is not dirty, " said Vidya addressing a press conference here on Friday.

"As an actor, my job is not to stick to an image rather I want to play different roles and for this movie I just needed mental preparation, " said Vidya as she dwelt on her role as a sex bomb in the film.

"The heroine's name is Silk, but it is not based on Silk Smith's life. The Dirty Picture is about a dancing star from 1980s. The writer thought to keep the name Silk just because in 80s it was a famous name in dancing. He thought by using the name we will be transferred to the period immediately, " revealed Vidya.

"I enjoyed dancing, it is all reminiscent of the 80s, " added Balan.

B-town actor Tusshar Kapoor also accompanied Vidya along with musician Bappi Lahiri.

Bappi Lahiri, who sang the song ‘Ooh La La' in the film, said, "Ooh La La has already became a big hit all over world. After 10 years, this song has become popular so fast which is awesome."

"The Dirty Picture is a good subject, the story is good and I want it to become superhit." he added."

Bappi Lahiri said that recent Bangla movies have lost the ambience, and he "does not get the desired subjects and songs."

He said his songs had good melody and good wordings, which is what people want.

He also talked about his new Bangla album, ‘Boro Eka Lage, ' and his new Hollywood Jazz album.

Actor Tusshar Kapoor, who was also present at the event, said, "It's a very challenging role and has a lot of shades to the character."

"The Dirty Picture is a three hero and one heroine film but Silk (heroine) is the main character and the story revolves around her character but we all have very important roles in the film, " said Tusshar.

The Dirty Picture, directed by Milan Luthria, features Vidya Balan, Naseeruddin Shah, Tusshar Kapoor and Emraan Hashmi.

The film will hit the theatres nationwide on Dec 2.
